Meet the Team

Joshua Blount

Founder & Managing Partner

Prior to founding Blount Capital Management, Josh was a strategy consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where he was embedded with a top-5 global energy company on corporate finance and strategy initiatives. He helped leadership establish performance benchmarks and long-range planning frameworks across 1, 3, 5, and 10+ year horizons — the kind of institutional discipline that now defines how BCM underwrites and operates every asset it acquires.

Before BCG, Josh was a consultant at Rockwell Automation, where his engagements ranged from conducting end-to-end operational due diligence — R&D through client service and returns — on an $11 billion medical device company ultimately acquired by Johnson & Johnson, to advising a family office on its self-storage portfolio. That self-storage engagement focused on two questions that would later become central to BCM's thesis: how to drive facility-level efficiency through technology, and how to operate those technology solutions themselves as efficiently as possible by placing the right automation in the right places. It was Josh's first exposure to how much operational upside sits inside a self-storage facility when you apply institutional rigor to a sector that rarely sees it.

Earlier, he spent seven years at CAZ Investments, helping scale institutional investment operations from $300 million to over $2 billion in assets under management. His team conducted buy-side due diligence on hundreds of private market opportunities across asset classes, developing the discipline of identifying genuine competitive advantages versus market-driven performance.

Wilson Covington

President of BCM Self Storage Operating Companies

Wilson has spent over 25 years inside self-storage facilities — not modeling them from a desk, but physically operating, stabilizing, and scaling them. His career spans every stage of the asset lifecycle: acquisition due diligence, value-add execution, facility buildout, and long-term operational management across 75+ locations in 18 states.

Over that time, he has overseen more than 5.5 million square feet and 46,000+ units, managing over $400 million in acquisitions and development. His operational playbook — standardized vendor negotiations, lifecycle maintenance programs, space optimization, and disciplined same-store performance tracking — is what turns an underperforming facility into a stabilized, cash-flowing asset.

At BCM, Wilson leads every operating company in the portfolio and owns the value-add execution plan from close to stabilization. That starts with a facility-level diagnostic — identifying where revenue is being left on the table through below-market rents, poor unit mix, or underutilized space. From there, he implements technology-driven revenue management, converts underperforming unit types, negotiates vendor contracts down to institutional rates, and builds out deferred maintenance programs that protect asset value over a perpetual hold. Every dollar of operational improvement he creates flows directly to LP returns — and compounds for decades rather than being harvested at a five-year exit.

His track record at Highline Storage, SpaceMax Storage, Childress Klein, and Sauls Commercial Real Estate is now the operational backbone of every BCM acquisition from day one.
